Lone Bear is one of the last to still make the Traditional Mi’kmaq Northern Block Flute. He makes his flutes by hand using hand made tools. He began making flutes around the age of 9, learning from his grandfather. Each flute is custom made once ordered and may take several months to complete.
Please sign up for the wait list for those items that are sold out. We will send an email notification to the waiting list when we are able to accept orders again—you will be the first to know! Lone Bear is only able to accept a few orders at a time due to work involved in crafting each flute. Thank you!

Lone Bear makes flutes out of Cedar trees that have been struck by lightening. He splits the left over pieces into smaller pieces. Individual “feathers” or bundles are made with recycled paper and soaked in bees wax. To use, tear off as much as you need and use it to start your fire.
Cedar wood fire starters are available for purchase in our shop.
